W. David Baxter
CEO

W. David Baxter was born and raised in Thunder Bay Ontario, where in 1978 he joined his father in the insurance business. In 1980 he became co-founder of Thunder Bay Insurance, obtaining his Life and Accident Sickness License the following year. In 1991 he became president of Thunder Bay Insurance and completed his C.A.I.B (Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker) shortly thereafter in 1991.
David and his family have been and are involved in numerous activities throughout the community of Thunder Bay, both business and personal in nature. He lives in Thunder Bay with his wife of 23 years Carol, and his two children Jeff and Jeanine.
Domenic Albanese
CFO

Domenic was born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario. He began his career at Thunder Bay Insurance Services in 1984 while attending Lakehead University. Upon graduation in 1986 with his Business Degree, Domenic began full time employment as accountant for the firm. In 1990, he became Controller.
Domenic is actively involved with various business and professional organizations in the community of Thunder Bay. He is also a strong supporter of youth activities, especially Sports and The Arts.
Melanie Albanese
Sales Manager

Melanie began her insurance career in 1981 in our Nipigon Branch. In 1983 she moved to Thunder Bay and shortly after began her Commercial Sales mentorship under her uncle, Bernard Baxter, becoming Commercial Manager in 1995. In 1999, Melanie became a managing partner with Thunder Bay Insurance, and in 2008 entered into her current role of Sales Manager. Due to her passion for commercial sales, Melanie maintains her role of a Sales Executive in the Business Division of TBI.
Melanie, and husband Domenic have three children, Nico, Christina, and Alessandra. They enjoy their community and giving back to it.
Terri Armitage
Service Manager

Terri began her insurance career in insurance in 1989 when she joined Thunder Bay Insurance. Terri started out as a receptionist and data processor. She then obtained her RIBO licence in 1991 and became an insurance broker. Terri worked in both offices over the years and became branch manager of the May Street office in 1996. Terri then went on to become a partner in the business and now is the Personal Lines Manager for the firm. Terri has obtained her CAIB – Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker designation and continues her insurance education by taking courses annually. Terri has sat on the executive board of the Insurance Broker’s Association of Thunder Bay and District.
Terri was born and raised in Thunder Bay where she married and raises her family of two daughters. Her main interests are her family and spending time with them at the lake where she lives year round. Terri’s hobby is gardening and many hours are spent planning, planting and caring for her many flower gardens. Terri has volunteered in various events over the years such as Dragon Boats, Alzheimer’s Coffee Days, St. Joseph’s Golf Classic, United Way Billboard Challenge as well as helping with bingo’s for The Lakehead Association for Community Living.
Carole Normand
Administration Manager

Carole Normand began her insurance career in 1979 after graduating from Lakeview High School. In 1981 she obtained her Registered Insurance Broker’s licence for the Province of Ontario and in 1990 obtained her Canadian Insurance Broker’s designation. Over the years Carole has worked in the capacity of licensed broker, manager and managing partner. She is currently on the executive board of the Insurance Broker’s Association of Thunder Bay and district and has volunteered in various capacities in the community. A lifelong resident of Thunder Bay, Carole resides with her husband and 2 children.
